Throughout 2024, the Winnipeg Arts Council partnered with dozens and dozens of musical groups, choral ensembles, community members and the Manitoba Choral Association to celebrate Winnipeg’s 150th birthday as the City of Song.

Musica Singers of Manitoba, a new vocal ensemble dedicated to promoting Philippine music and culture, delivered a captivating performance at the WSO Community Celebration on Saturday, October 7, 2023 at the Centennial Concert Hall.
“What a performance! The music was breathtaking, and the setting was perfect. The welcoming and exciting atmosphere made it an unforgettable occasion! Looking forward to the next show!” exclaimed Estrella Asido, a first-time attendee at the Musica Singers concert.
The Musica Singers, Manitoba’s premier Filipino vocal ensemble, and MY Band invite you to their second concert of the season, Tanghalan: Gems from the Stage and Screen, on Saturday, February 8, 2025, at 7:00 p.m. at the Viscount Gort Hotel, 1670 Portage Ave.
Singing together in the spirit of City of Song Winnipeg 150, a packed house of concertgoers belted out pop hits with Musica Singers and MY Band in their pre-Valentine concert, Music in Our Hearts (La musique dans nos coeurs), at the Centre culturel franco-manitobain last February 10.
Brought together by their love of song and passion for culture, Musica Singers end their debut season on a high note.
Coinciding with Filipino Heritage Month, “An Evening of Songs from the Philippines” features the choir plus a number of special guests performing traditional songs by celebrated contemporary and past composers.
